SKIING & SNOWBOARDING
Stretching over two connected mountain ranges the area boasts a whopping 103km of pistes, which are know to be groomed to perfection on a daily basis. Currently there are 24 lifts making sure that waiting times are kept to a minimum even in peak times. First class equipment rental, which are always stocked with latest & best sports products available are located at both main entry points into the ski area. For “offroaders” there are plenty of possible ski-touring routes ready to be explored by the experienced (always check the avalanche status!). If you decide to stay with us, the fun is only 150m away from your door – no car needed! It goes without saying, that we will also recommend the best “filling stations” for the exhausted skiers/boarders upon your arrival in our house.
HIKING
Hiking is big in Bad Kleinkirchheim. The net of trails stretches over a whopping 1000km in total. Whether you are into casual nordic walking, trailrunning or into full day hikes, there is truly something for everyone. The local cable cars offer you a headstart in case you want to start your adventure right from the one of the two most prominent peaks. A large part of the trail network runs through the famous “Biosphärenpark Nockberge” – a huge UNESCO protected area where you will discover Alpine fauna and flora in its pristine and unspoilt form. For the the more serious mountainclimber we offer you advice on the some of the best routes in the Eastern Alps. The 3000m peaks are only a few km away by car or can easily be reached with the regions unparalled mobility options of the award winning “Nockmobil project”.
BIKING
Bad Kleinkirchheim boasts an amazing network of bike trails for all tastes. Leisurely, relaxed or adrenaline heavy – the choice is yours. The trails naturally wind through the famous Nockberge Mountains with plenty of natural “fuel stations”, sights, sounds (of silence) and impressions of this unique natural stage. If you prefer to bike downhill rather than uphill, the Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen offer bike transport by cable car right to the top of the mountain, opening up an array of downhill trails.
